Description

Jack practically skipped onto the stable yard. Today was the day he could finally get back on Red, for the first time since his operation. Even though the pair would stay in walk for the whole session, Jack was still extremely excited.
Fishing a key out of his pocket, humming his favourite song, Jack unlocked the tack room door and stepped inside, feeling around for the light switch. After a bit of fumbling around, he found it and flicked the switch. The light flickered before lighting up, illuminating numerous leather saddles and bridles.
'Really need to change that light,' He mumbled to himself, making his way towards the saddle rack with Red's name above it. Lifting the saddle, he noticed something... No numnah. He took the saddle and bridle anyway, noticing the halfpad was still there. As he got to the gelding's stable, Red whinnied to him. Jack smiled at the horse as he placed the saddle over the stable door
'Hi big guy, how are 'ya doing?' He grinned, stroking his muzzle, the horse snorted a reply.
'Oh well that's good.. Ready to go riding?' Jack got a polo from his pocket. Hearing the russle of packaging, Red snorted again.
'Well, first I need to get you another numnah from somewhere.' Jack fed the horse the polo.
Turning around, Stevie Rae was standing right behind him. Jack jumped a little, surprised at her sudden appearence and embarrased that she had caught him having a full conversation with his mount.
Sensing this, she picked up
'I talk to them too you know.' She giggled, 'Go get a Numnah from the spares box, I've put all of his differen't ones to wash ready for retraining.'
'Urm.. Okay,' Jack chuckled.

Back in the tack room, Jack opened up a box marked 'spare numnah's' in black marker. It was full of gel and sheepskin halfpads, and Pony sized numnahs, most likely Boogieman's, as Sara had taught herself how to make them, and brought new personalised ones constantly. He rummaged a little deeper into the box and pulled out the only Horse sized numnah left.
'Purple!?' He sighed. 'Well, it's the only one, so I guess it will have to do.'
He brushed the dust off the numnah and saw on the underside, there was a ticket. Written on the ticket, in what Jack assumed was blue Sharpie, was 'Cheyenne/Nedaviah'. Jack walked over to Nedaviah's peg and looked under the cover. Sure enough was Nedaviah's saddle, and another matching purple saddle pad.
'Well they don't need it.' He shrugged.
